We're PREGNANT!
People who know us well, know we have been trying since forever ago.
And after many cry fest, doctors appointments, vitamins, clomid pills, a thyroid problem, PCOS, keeping track of my cycle and ovulation dates, heartbreaks, thousands of dollars worth of doctor bills, shots, and a miscarriage later..
We are finally pregnant.
Robby and I did artificial insemination on May 1st. And we decided if this didn't work, than we would stop trying for awhile because we couldn't take the heartbreak anymore and we definitely couldn't afford an artificial insemination each month or even every other month for that matter. We went in for the artificial insemination and everything turned out great..
I won't go into details with all our personal info but let's just say the odds were in our favor.
And it worked the first time! I had to take hcg shots on the 3rd, 6th, and 9th of May, which helps the egg stay fertilized. They told me not to take any pregnancy test until they gave me the say so because those shots can give me a false positive since it is basically a pregnancy hormone, but I was kinda curious so I took a test just for the heck of it a couple days before my period was suppose to start and it said this..
My period didn't start on the 17th or the 18th so I called and they said the shot is out of my system and gave me the okay to take a pregnancy test and the results were..
And I also took another one the next day,
and another one the day after that,
and another one the day after that.
After I took all these test.. I thought of Rollo from Juno when he said.. "That ain't no Etch-A-Sketch. This is one doodle that can't be un-did, Homeskillet." Except I WANTED to be knocked up whereas Juno didn't. Haha..
I just couldn't believe it! I feel so blessed that the AI worked the first time.
Can someone please tell me why I feel like time is just ticking away? I better get my booty in gear. I have lots to learn and lot's to do!
Here's a start: I'm off to buy the book, "What to Expect when your Expecting."
Yay!!! Congrats I'm so excited for you guys! I really think that is the book worth buying. I liked prenatal parenting as well but that might be more of a check out at the library kinda book...it just helped me keep a good perspective of how I acted during my pregnancy.
